Dear Friend,

Making additional use of this communication, I wish to humbly submit some points about pan masala menace. As you must have read, almost all aspects of this "Social Epidemic" have been touched in the article. Association is playing its role effectively and due to our collective efforts, Govt. of India also appears to reconsider its panmasala and Tobacco Policy.

Till, Govt. takes steps to curb this menace. We have a social responsibility to awaken the masses against this socially acceptable but potentially harmful Panmasala, Betalnut & Tobacco Chewing habits.

Our Joint efforts should aim at painting this habit as a Social Evil. From our extensive experiences in this field, I may suggest following measures which you may adopt at individual levels.

1. Dont keep Panmasala, Betalnuts or Tobacco products in your drawing room, Waiting rooms.

2. Do not serve them in social events & celebrations.

3. Mention about their ill effects in every speech, discussion or symposiums you happen to participate.

4. When ever chance arises, write short popular articles in local publications, give press interviews on this matter.

5. Keep reprints of such articles, pamplets, stickers etc. in your waiting rooms.

Your Fraternally,

Dr. B. M. Shrivastava
